We’re delighted to share that Natuurpark Nieuwenhoven has been nominated for the Nature-Inclusive Building and Design Award. This award celebrates Belgian and Dutch projects that take a pioneering role in nature inclusivity and contribute to raising broader awareness about nature-inclusive design. In Nieuwenhoven, with the construction of the bio-based visitor pavilion and the design of the landscape, we pursue exactly that goal: in every intervention – from master plan to plant selection and construction detail – the focus lies on strengthening natural quality, enhance biodiversity and raise visitor awareness of their value. Integrated insect towers and birdhouses, a bat box within the roof structure, the Garden of the Future, the uncovering and re-meandering of the Kelsbeek stream are some of the interventions that elevate nature-inclusive design to a higher level, giving nature every opportunity to thrive.
Building with and for nature is one of our core values. Our ambition is to keep exploring ways to bring this vision to life and inspire both the public and the sector with accessible examples of nature-inclusive interventions.
