The sun is shining—perfect for a trip to Genk, Kattevennen! Discover the new 2.5 km Planetenpad we designed in the forest of Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen. Four installations will take you on a journey through the cosmos and our solar system.
Your adventure begins at the Astra rocket, a strange and otherworldly vessel where a surrounding soundscape immerses you in the sensation of a liftoff. You’ll then pass through the layers of the atmosphere before arriving at the solar system installation. Here, the eight planets of our solar system gather around a gigantic 12-meter wide steel bowl representing the Sun. Step inside the Sun to experience just how immense it is compared to the planets. Finally, encounter gravity. Feel its invisible force and understand how gravitational waves might shape the future of space exploration.
